Special Education: Building Foundational Skills
Our Special Education programme focuses on measurable developmental progress. Each child follows an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) with clearly defined goals in literacy, numeracy, communication and cognitive development.
Through structured classroom teaching adapted to regional language contexts in South India, students demonstrate:
- Improved functional reading and number recognition
- Enhanced attention span and classroom participation
- Better expressive and receptive communication skills
Progress is tracked through periodic assessments and parent reviews, ensuring transparency and accountability. The objective is not academic comparison, but functional competence — enabling children to understand instructions, make choices and participate meaningfully in daily life.
Life Skills Development – Moving Towards Independence
Life Skills training is outcome-driven and practical. We focus on abilities that directly reduce caregiver dependence and improve daily functioning.
Students are trained to:
- Manage personal hygiene independently
- Dress, eat and organise belongings without assistance
- Handle small financial transactions
- Follow basic safety practices in public spaces
In the a family structure, where caregiving responsibilities are often long-term, even small gains in independence significantly reduce emotional and physical strain on families. Our measurable goal is simple: increase independent task completion year on year.

Vocational Training – Preparing for Productive Engagement
Vocational Training is aligned with realistic employment ecosystems in South India, including small businesses, workshops and service-based enterprises.
Students develop:
- Task consistency and time discipline
- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions
- Basic productivity skills in packaging, crafts, gardening and simple office support
Where possible, students transition into sheltered work environments, supported placements or family-run enterprises. The focus is on sustainable engagement — building routine, responsibility and dignity through productive contribution.
For CSR partners, this programme directly supports livelihood inclusion and skill development mandates under the Companies Act.
Social Integration – From Isolation to Participation
Social integration is measured not by attendance alone, but by behavioural and communication outcomes.
Students are gradually introduced to:
- Group-based activities and teamwork
- Cultural events and public participation
- Guided community exposure visits
We track improvements in social responsiveness, eye contact, appropriate behaviour and peer interaction. Increased confidence in public settings reduces stigma and strengthens community acceptance.
In the socio-cultural context, where social identity is closely linked to community participation, integration is a powerful step toward long-term inclusion.
Our students are regularly exposed to cultural, sports and other activities in collaboration with other schools and children and they have always been welcomed by all members of the community with warmth and acceptance.
